Responsible for the overall staffing needs in relation to current case mix, census and resident care needs. Responsible for reporting to the Director of Nursing in regards to supplies, staffing needs, hiring and purchasing.
Ensures the nursing schedule is provided to staff in a timely manner |
Communicates with Director of Nursing staffing needs |
Communicates with all nursing employees in regards to staffing needs |
Maintains a positive attitude and positivity within the nursing department as well as interdisciplinary approach |
Maintains record of staffing and staffing changes |
Maintains & Posts the Medicare/Medicaid Staffing Daily |
Ensures documentation of individual staff call outs and communicates with HR as needed |
Knowledgable of Policies and Procedures of the home |
Communicates with Senior Nurses (Supervisors & RCC) new employees and assignment status. |
Completes daily assignment (floor schedule) for each shift |
Responsible for ordering supplies for the nursing department. |
Knowledgable of Nursing Budget. |
Assists on the units when necessary - Works as a Team Leader or C.N.A |
Responsible for ordering Med B supplies and ensures timely delivery |
Demonstrates competence in technical and manual skills according to scope of practice for LPNs. |
Functions as a resident advocate by protecting the resident’s rights. |
Demonstrates creativity in solving problems and looking at situations in new and innovative ways. |
Interacts with residents, families, co-workers, managers and other departmental staff in a kind, knowledgeable and friendly manner. |
Functions as a leader for the CNAs; delegates in a manner that contributes to the excellence of the nursing unit to which LPN is assigned. |
Participates in orientation of new staff and assists in performance evaluations when needed. |
Demonstrates ability to remain calm in emergency and/or stressful situations and gives everyone a feeling of confidence that station is under control. |
Consistently follows the policies and procedures of the facility. |
Exhibits genuine interest in and appreciation of adults in later years of life. |
Is a motivated, independent individual who can organize workload so that all functions are completed appropriately. |
